Wind-e® Renewable Energy

Wind-e® Renewable Energy is the energy generated by wind energy measured in kilowatt-hours or kWh as it is generated by large utility-grade wind turbines connected to the power lines and is transferred to customers through Renewable Energy Certificates or RECs. These RECs enable customers to purchase clean, renewable wind energy without changing power companies or installing additional equipment at their home or place of business. It is also a direct investment to support the development of future wind farms nationwide. Wind-e® Renewable Energy is “fresh” from the turbine.

  • One kWh of Wind-e Renewable Energy is equal to the amount of electricity generated by one kWh of wind energy.

  • Development of wind farms reduces the need for other types of less environmentally friendly forms of energy such as nuclear and coal.

  • One kWh of Wind-e Renewable Energy offsets or helps reduce approximately 1.4 pounds of green house gases, most of which is carbon dioxide.

By purchasing SKY Energy® Wind-e® Renewable Energy, companies, institutions, and individuals can play an active role in helping to reduce air pollution, while also supporting the continued development of wind energy for a modest premium above your local utility company. Companies and institutions can use the Renewable Energy Certificates in support of their fulfillment of environmental requirements and EPA Green Power Partnership.
