For Immediate Release Contact: Brian Weninger PRESS RELEASE Title: Garner’s Natural Market & Café purchases Wind-e® Renewable Energy from SKY Energy® Inc.
Garner’s Natural Market & Café has been bringing the Greenville community the benefits of organic foods and natural supplements to its upstate customers for over thirty years. Recently, Garner’s general manager, Laura Pennell, has signed a annual contract with SKY Energy® Inc., a Greenville company that markets and sells 100% clean wind Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) that help meet our ever increasing demand for energy while decreasing air pollution emissions typically produced by conventional fossil fuel power plants. These power plants account for over 70% of our current energy production. Although the electricity from the wind farms is delivered to the national energy grid and not directly to users, Garner’s purchase of RECs is actually reducing pollutants like carbon dioxide and nitrous oxides by an annual total of 127,000 pounds based on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) national power grid composition. Laura believes that this will help the overall air quality nationally and do their part in reducing Global Warming and climate change also. It complements Garners’ mission to provide natural organic products that also need clean air to improve our general health. The EPA estimates that the average household consumes 10,000 kWh of electricity per year and the conventional fossil fuel plants generates over 11,000 pounds of air pollution each year to provide this to each household. Air pollution is a global concern that knows no boundaries. The business objective of SKY Energy® is to promote and sell the attributes and benefits of 100% wind energy that generates zero air pollution. Wind energy technology and installations in the US are growing annually by 18 % per year. It is estimated that renewable wind energy has the potential to provide up to 20% of the US electricity due to the sustainable winds in certain areas of the country. SKY Energy® is currently selling its RECs in four states to corporations, private business and residential customers. If you would like more information
