Brian is the Founder & Owner of SKY ENERGY®, Inc. He came up with the idea for a clean energy company in the late '90s and then began researching it further. Afterwards, he went on a journey to start and build it. He created the company's name, logo, slogans, vision and mission, as well as registered its domain name and even the company's toll-free number for its contact information among a lot of other things that he does for the company!

Brian's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Design from Clemson University ('97, 3.66 GPA) and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder ('02, 3.66 GPA remarkably as well!). He graduated Summa Cum Laude from his high school, Christ Church Episcopal School ('93), and played several sports there.

His work experience includes being an architectural technician for HO+K where he worked for their Science & Technology division designing high-tech buildings such as the Georgia Tech Environmental Science & Technology Laboratories. He also worked for SRSS Architects in Atlanta on projects including the Federal Reserve Bank and other buildings including a mixed-use commercial building project for Bell South and the Hearst Tower, a 50-story skyscraper in Charlotte.

His additional work experience includes assisting in starting a new division for the Land Title Guarantee Company, while working as a summer intern during graduate school program. He was also a recipient of a partial scholarship awarded from that company in his final year of graduate school. Brian was employed as a real estate consultant at Design Strategies for the new Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) park in Greenville and then as a facility consultant at Jacobs Engineering on government projects.

His own projects include a high-speed rail station in Atlanta connecting to other modes of transportation and a cantilevered residence based on modern aircraft design. He received Honors in Architecture from Clemson University's Calhoun College for those and other projects. Over the past several years he has been a volunteer for the Greenville County Planning Department Transportation Committee, his neighborhood Homeowner's Association, and the US Green Building Council. He has also served as the Chairman for the company since its inception.

His personal interests are varied but include traveling, even though he has not done much recently, computers & electronics, cooking, home improvement, music, art, photography, movies, and racing. He also enjoys exercising at the gym as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, and going to the beach & the mountains. He is proud to say that after recovering from knee surgery and physical therapy a few years ago where even bending his leg was difficult and painful, he is now able to leg press over 400 pounds and run almost 7 miles in a half an hour on the elliptical! He hopes to go scuba diving and hot air ballooning one day, fly aircraft as well as go boating more often, and work on vehicles in the future.

Brian, 36, was born in New Jersey and presently lives in South Carolina. He is a 4th generation U.S. Citizen. A hopeless romantic, he has been married to his wife, Susan, since 1999, who he proposed to on a boulder overlooking the surrounding countryside at The Cliffs at Glassy over a thousand feet above the piedmont, but is currently separated(!), and has two daughters, Alyssa, age 6, and Ashley, 2. It was a good thing that they didn't fall though, because he took her to the Caribbean for their honeymoon where they went sailing, through the depths of the coral reefs in a submarine, swimming with stingrays, and slept on the beach. He also put Valentines Day on the cover of the company's business plan. It will be interesting to see where that will take him, but so far it hasn't been much outside of his home! He hopes that his background and interests will assist him in building a progressive, beneficial, exciting, and leading-edge company.
